JUNIOR CURLING INFORMATION
Junior Curling for the 2016-2017 season will run Sunday nights at the Appleton Curling Club from 4:00-5:30 pm. We will start Dec 4th and run through March 18th (No curling Dec. 23 - Jan 1).
What is curling?
Curling is an Olympic Sport in which players slide polished granite stones across a sheet of ice towards a circular target area. Two teams, each consisting of four players, take turns sliding the stones, also called “rocks” across the ice towards the target, also called the “house.” Each team throws eight stones, each person throwing 2 each. The object of the game is to accumulate the highest score by being the team with the closest stone(s) to the center of the house. A game consists of eight or 10 ends.
